Immunera builds diagnostics that read the immune system like a sensor network. Your immune system is constantly recording what’s happening in your body, and we use machine learning to decode those signals and guide treatment decisions for patients with autoimmune disease.
The underlying science came out of Stanford and was recently published in Science and covered in The New York Times. We’re launching a nationwide data collection effort to train and validate the models we’ll bring into the clinic.
We’re looking for a Principal ML Engineer to help shape the modeling and infrastructure that power our blood tests.
What you’ll work on
- Design, train, evaluate, and deploy models across molecular datasets, including large language models applied to gene sequencing data
- Build systems that enable reproducible experiments, model provenance, production monitoring, and reliable deployment
- Work closely with biologists and clinicians to ground modeling choices in immunology and medical fundamentals

What you bring
Required
- Experience building and operating ML systems end-to-end in production
- Comfort working across modeling, data engineering, and infrastructure (Python, PyTorch/TensorFlow, cloud platforms)
- Ability to lead complex, research-heavy projects with scientists and clinicians
Preferred
- Experience with biological or clinical data
- Background in distributed training or ML platform design
- Contributions to open source or scientific literature
- Interest in helping shape a small, growing ML team
